How we protect your personal information, manage first-party anonymous telemetry, and ensure privacy compliance under the DPDP Act, 2023.
All telemetry is strictly first-party and anonymized. You can opt out at any time.
GeoFolder (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates a hyper-local discovery platform connecting consumers with local businesses, products, services, deals, and authentic customer reviews. We respect your privacy and are committed to safeguarding your personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 and applicable Indian data protection frameworks.
We collect only data necessary to deliver search, merchant management, review authenticity, and communication:
When you register via email or Google OAuth, we store your name, email address, avatar, phone number (if provided), bookmarked listings (businesses, products, and services), and public ratings/reviews you author.
When business owners list their shop or company, we store business titles, taglines, descriptions, full street addresses, pincodes, operating hours, photos, promotional deals, and catalog items (products and services).
To allow local store owners to view aggregated engagement metrics (such as daily listing views, phone/WhatsApp contact button clicks, and referral channels from WhatsApp status or Instagram bios) without tracking individuals, GeoFolder employs a strict privacy-first pipeline:
IP addresses are anonymized at the edge before event ingestion. Raw individual IP addresses are never permanently retained in our database.
GeoFolder does not sell your browsing history, run third-party cross-site trackers, or share telemetry data with external advertising brokers.
We use collected data strictly for functional platform purposes:
Location queries operate on city and 6-digit postal pincode granularity. When you trigger browser geolocation, coordinates are processed in memory to locate nearby merchants and are not tracked across continuous movement. Authentication and local telemetry preferences are retained in standard browser storage.
Under the DPDP Act 2023, you maintain complete ownership of your personal data. You have the right to request a copy of your personal data, update inaccuracies, withdraw consent, or request the permanent deletion of your account and associated review history by emailing our support desk.
